Looks like my silly “Does your weblog own you?” quiz from 2002 is making the rounds again. The first time I took the quiz almost four years ago, the result said that my weblog owned 37.5% of me. I took it again a couple of days ago and still got the same score! And I thought my social life was improving. Apparently not.
By the way, I just can’t stop playing Farm Hustle. It’s so cute and so addictive! I’ve spent way too much time playing it these last couple of days it’s not even funny. I’m going to try to make myself to leave the computer and go out for a walk today. Wish me luck!

I think I know what I’m going to do this summer. I’m going to build this kite camera and fly and take aerial pictures with it every weekend. Well, maybe not every weekend. Some weekends will do. It’s going to be fun, fun, fun! But for now, I’m going to concentrate on making a pinhole camera to use on the Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day, which is on April 30 this year. I’m not a geek (though my husband might disagree). I’m just trying to find my niche in photography. That, and the fact that it is fun to experiment.

So, another weekend has come and gone. Boohoo! We spent the weekend at Troy’s parents’ place. A weekend there usually means a game-playing weekend, but not this time.
On Saturday, Troy’s dad drove us down to the shore of Lake Erie so we could see and take pictures of the newly-built wind turbines. I’ve only seen a wind farm once before and it was in North Cape, Prince Edward Island. I thought it was a very large one with at least 16 turbines, but the one we saw this past Saturday is going to be even larger with 66 turbines. I took all the pictures of the turbines with a film camera so you’ll have to wait until I got the film developed before you can see them. We stopped by a couple of antique stores on our way down, but sadly, there was no interesting cameras to be found. We also stopped by the Big Creek National Conservation Area to take pictures of some waterfowls.
Saturday night, I had to stay home alone with the dog and the cat because Troy had a bachelor party for one of his friends to go to (and no, he didn’t go to a strip bar with the rest of them — I’m so proud of him!) and Troy’s parents had to go to a buck and doe. I spent my time alone watching a couple of movies on TV and did a couple of crossword puzzles. The first movie was Beauty Shop, which I didn’t really care about, and the second one was Closer, which I enjoyed. The first time I saw Jude Law in the movie, I was like “Oooh, Jude Law, so dreamy!” but as the movie progressed, I learned to hate his character. Julia Roberts wasn’t very convincing as a photographer but damn, that Leica camera sure is sexy! If only it didn’t cost thousands of dollars…
We didn’t really do much on Sunday though we did play some games of Super 5 (it’s strange how there’s no information about this game whatsoever online considering how fun it really is). And before we knew it, it was time to drive back up to Waterloo. We already have plans for next weekend. I can see it being quite eventful!

For some reasons, I keep forgetting that Advil doesn’t work on an empty stomach. At least not in my case. I popped two this morning but it didn’t do anything so I spent hours feeling crappy. I kept telling myself to go grab a banana, but I was too stubborn to submit, mostly because I didn’t now why I should. I wasn’t really super hungry. About 10 minutes ago, I finally felt hungry enough to have something to eat so I had a banana and felt a little better almost instantly. Doh! Had I remembered, I would’ve had the stupid banana hours ago. Anyway, my body’s been hating me all week. I hope I won’t get sick for real. I hate being sick. But then again, who doesn’t. In other news, I signed up and joined the CSS Reboot yesterday, meaning I have until May 1 to procrastinate come up with a new design for this site, meaning even if I did come up with a new design in a couple of days (which I doubt), it wouldn’t be up until May 1. Patience, grasshopper!

We went to see Capote and V for Vendetta last weekend. Both movies are kind of disturbing and both show how human beings can be so manipulative. I think the Oscar for Philip Seymour Hoffman was well-deserved. His acting was great. Though I wish he got an antagonistic role less often. Well, some people might think that his role as Capote was protagonistic, but he was an antagonist to me (you have to see the movie to understand). The movie was kind of slow at times and I did yawn a couple of times but it wasn’t so slow that you’d want to leave. It’s a so-slow-but-I-have-to-see-the-ending kind of movie. We saw Capote at our local independent cinema here in Waterloo, but we saw V for Vendetta at one of those IMAX theatres with a screen as tall as a six-storey building, near Toronto (because the boys just had to see Natalie Portman BIG). Now I don’t think I could be happy with seeing a movie at any regular-sized screen cinemas anymore. Dammit. It was really that good. The IMAX technology, I mean (yea, Troy, I heard you: Canadian technology yadda, yadda, yadda). Well, the movie was also pretty good. I didn’t really mind the explosions. I just didn’t quite enjoy the blood-shed parts (even fake blood gives me shivers). I did, however, enjoy the storyline. Makes me want to read the graphic novel the movie was based on. Did I say blogger’s block? Nah!

Well, it’s only been a week or so, but it’s still a long time. I guess. It’s just that I have been having blogger’s block all week. There’s only one way to break a blogger’s block: redesign! It’s been a long time coming, really. This design has been up for more than a year. I haven’t started with the redesign yet but I know it’s going to be simple. I might even do a live redesign. We’ll see tomorrow.
Anyway, I just thought I’d give you a head’s up. Later!
